This Bodhran by Remo is 16" diameter x 4" thick pretuned (low pitch) Irish Bodhran drum has wood dowel crossbracing on back.
The goat-fiberskyn head gives an outstanding authentic ethnic drum sound. This drum is the primary rhythmic accompaniment for Irish folk music. It is typically low pitched and is played with a two-headed Cipin (mallet), which is also included.
The pitch and timbre are changed by the non-striking hand shifting position and applying pressure on the back of the head.
The Bodhran is the historic drum of Ireland and is the primary rhythmic accompaniment for the folk music of the Emerald Isle.
