How It Started...
Why I decided to sell the Best Music Instruments On-Line
26 Mar 2007
Since a very young girl, I have always loved music. Luckily I was born with perfect pitch and started singing children's songs at age 4. By age 9 I was featured on a local radio station every Saturday morning called Eaton's Good Deed Radio Club. There was no television then and I stood on a bare stage, in front of a microphone stand with a keyboardist on the side. A record was made of my songs, I mean an old 98 record. I was told by a school music teacher that my mother would be wise to send me to a singing coach to learn diction and phrasing and other musical attributes.
By age 12 I had won a 1st place gold medal in my Canadian city in the Kiwanis music competition. I entered many competitions after that and added several more medals to my collection.
At 15 I auditioned with a choir representing Canada in European competitions. We sang in England, Wales, Germany, Belgium, Italy and France and visited other countries in two different years.
My professional career started at age 20, when I had my own 4 piece band. We performed a weekly 4 hour gig at a local restaurant.
When I decided to move to Hawaii from Canada I was in my mid-twenties. Although I ended up working full time, I still managed to sing several nights a week with Don Ho and his band.
After moving to Virginia, for a short while I performed in local college restaurant/bars.
Since moving to Florida I've played solo in several restaurants with my keyboard and lap steel guitar. Then I attained a regular keyboardist, and for five years, performed in many local restaurants and hotel grills. Three years, was a backup singer for the city theater for the arts, Ruth Eckerd Hall, performing with Andy Williams, Dave Brubeck, Kaye Ballard and others. Five years I performed with a trio of ladies called The Sounds of the Andrews Sisters as Maxine Andrews. We had a 16 piece orchestra that played with us in the bigger venues and performed throughout Florida and on television.
My knowledge of music and instruments is extensive and I feel qualified to sell the very best quality and performing instrument for your money and music enjoyment.
